TAS- diagramme (Total Alkali Silica)
The TAS-diagramme is used to name fine-grained volcanic rocks by their bulk compostion. Boundaries as defined by Le Bas et al. (1983).
In order for the diagramme to work properly, you have to enter your data in weight percent as recalculated to volatile-free.
versions
v1.1: The diagram itself and the names should be resizeable, so that you can alter its size.
v1.2: You can now enter multiple data sets.
v1.3: Subalkaline-Alkaline separation lines are implemented.
Programmes
Stereo32
In my opinion the best programme for Stereonets like Schmidt’s net. The programme was developed by researchers of the University Bochum in Germany.
By clicking the download link below, a .zip-file will be downloaded. Unpack that file and you are ready to go. The programme itself is launched by clicking the “Stereo32.exe”. I would recommend to put the whole data file in a designated programme folder and create a shortcut of the .exe to your desktop.
